Carlos Santana is a music legend whose musical signature is among one of the best-known in the world, and an artist who, for over four decades has been influenced generations and genres alike transcending geographical and cultural boundaries.

Santana has 10 Grammy Awards to his credit and has sold a record 100 million records. He has enthralled over 100 million fans at concerts worldwide. He has many an accomplishment to his credit, including the Billboard Latin Music Awards’ 2009 Lifetime Achievement honor, and Billboard’s Century Award in 1996. He was the recipient of the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors Award.

Rolling Stone named him as #15 on its list of the ‘100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time’. In 2014, Santana overtook the Rolling Stones, along with Barbara Streisand, as one of only two artists in Billboard history to have at least one album in the Top Ten, for six consecutive decades since 1960s.

A.R. Rahman is popularly known as the man who has redefined contemporary Indian music. In 2007, Time magazine rated the soundtrack of ‘Roja’ in the Top 10 of their all-time best movie soundtracks of the world and The Guardian, UK, listed the soundtrack of ‘Bombay’ in ‘1000 albums to listen to before you die’. In 2008, Rahman's work for ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ won 2 Academy Awards. In all, he has won over 15 awards for this score including two Grammys, the Golden Globe and the BAFTA. Rahman has been bestowed with two of India's highest national civilian honours, the 'Padma Bhushan' and 'Padma Shri', for his contribution to music. In 2009, he was named by Time magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Rahman has performed with a range of artistes including Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Damian Marley and Dave Stewart and and has collaborated with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Michael Jackson, Hans Zimmer and Akon, among others. Rahman has set up the A R Rahman Foundation to help poor and underprivileged children. He serves as the UN Ambassador for the 2015 Millennium Development Goals and has also set up the KM College of Music and Technology in Chennai for music education and nurturing talent that attracts students and faculty from across the globe.
